THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS won comfortably 45-24, but they got a brief scare against La Rochelle.
Toulon found themselves 17-3 behind early in their Top 14 clash yesterday, but soon settled to pick up their second win of the season.
La Rochelle scored the first of their tries when they were awarded a penalty try for this brutal high tackle from Fijian winger Josua Tuisova.
After blocking down a kick through, La Rochelle’s Pierre Aguillon looked clean through for the line, before Tuisova hauled him down by the neck.
After playing advantage, the referee went upstairs to the TMO, who ruled Aguillon would have reached the line had he not been tackled, and a penalty try and yellow card was awarded.

However, the Fijian made up for his mistake with two tries after returning to the field, with Juan Smith, Gerhard Vosloo and Theo Belan also crossing the whitewash to give Toulon their second win of the season.
