UNCAPPED RACING 92 centre Henry Chavancy has been called up to the France squad for their Six Nations opener against England as a replacement for Wesley Fofana.
Les Bleus suffered a major blow when Fofana was ruled out of the tournament after rupturing his Achilles in Clermont Auvergne’s European Champions Cup 48-26 defeat of Exeter Chiefs on Saturday.
Guy Noves has wasted no time in adding Chavancy to his squad, a fortnight before the trip to Twickenham to take on the the defending champions.
Chavancy scored Racing’s only try in a 22-10 Champions Cup loss to Munster yesterday and is in contention to earn his first cap against last year’s Grand Slam winners on 4 February.
Mohamed Boughanmi, Arthur Iturria, Fabien Sanconnie and Geoffrey Palis will also be hoping to make their international bows against Eddie Jones’ men after they were named in a 32-man Six Nations squad by Noves earlier this week.
