PSG interested in signing Atlético Madrid’s João Félix

Le Parisien report tonight that Paris Saint-Germain are still looking to sign another striker in the upcoming January transfer window, with out-of-favour Atlético Madrid man João Félix emerging as a possible recruit.

Having missed out on Robert Lewandowski and Gianluca Scamacca over the summer, the league leaders are still intent on bringing in a player who can play as an all-out number nine so as to bring the best out of Kylian Mbappé – a tactical point which has been at the centre of the Frenchman’s reported desire to leave the club just months into his new contract.

The club’s sporting advisor Luís Campos wants to sign his compatriot on a loan deal. Félix signed for the Spaniards back in 2019 on a €126m deal, and has since scored 32 goals so far in 128 appearances for the Colchoneros. His arrival would also allow the reigning Champions to offer some reprieve for the free-scoring Lionel Messi-Neymar-Mbappé trident, with Hugo Ekitike still settling in and Pablo Sarabia failing to convince up front. Félix himself is said to be enticed by the idea of a move to PSG.
